Alton Webteam: October 2018
In September we were pleased to welcome Philip. It was good that he could meet some of our members for the first time. He gave us a fascinating talk about how music first came to be part of our worship in church and we listened to music that took us from Gregorian charts, Isaac Watts and Charles Wesley through to a modern hymn by Stuart Townend.
Becky Shaylor then joined us and demonstrated the craft work she was organising for remembrance Sunday. Some of our ladies then helped to decorate the hearts which will be on display then.
As you know a recent meeting was held on Saturday 20th October and our next meeting will be held on Saturday 17th November when we shall get together at Avenue Nurseries from 12 noon onwards, for an enjoyable lunchtime gathering and an opportunity for some Christmas shopping too.
