Alton Webteam: January 2017
During the run up to Christmas a number of events and special services took place in the church for all ages. They included the Lunch Club Christmas dinner, a Nativity performed by BB Anchor Boys and GB Explorers, the annual evening Carol Service and a children and family service on Christmas Eve.
On New Year's Eve an afternoon get together was well attended by around 40 adults. Those present enjoyed a picture quiz, table top games (including Pop-up Pirate!!), mulled juice, tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits. The event concluded with a reading of the poem 'The Gate of the Year', a prayer for the coming year, the hymn 'Lord, for the years your love has kept and guided.....' and a blessing. This could be the start of a new tradition, judging by the response!
