Alton Webteam: January 2018
Expedition training sessions have resumed on Wednesday evenings. There's a lively group of nine young people tackling Bronze, but for some reason we're low in numbers for Silver and have no-one currently signed up for Gold. If you know of anyone aged 14-plus who might be interested, please let me know.
Another girl has just gained her Bronze Award. For three months, she helped with an after-school Rounders club , and she chose Reading as her skill. (Thanks must go once again to Gordon Frater for acting as her skill Assessor.) For a year, she played netball , and she had a successful expedition with her friends, in the New Forest in the autumn of 2016. Congratulations!
Just before Christmas, two of our participants were at St James's Palace to receive their Gold Certificates from the Earl of Wessex. Not just any two participants — these are sisters, who had completed within months of each other! So well done, Emily and Rosella.
