Alton Webteam: May 2018
See below for Jennie Marlow's message following her very special week.
"What a special time we had this week. On Monday 14th Gerald and I and our son, David, went to Winchester, where seven of us were receiving the British Empire Medal. The Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Mr. Nigel Atkinson, presented us with the medal at Serle's House and made us feel special. On Tuesday 15th Gerald and I set off for a garden party at Buckingham Palace. We were amongst a great number of other people, many of whom were taller than us, so we can't really say we saw the Queen! However, it was very kind of her to allow us to explore her garden and enjoy tea. Everything went like clockwork and was very well organised. The week finished with the royal wedding — no, we weren't there, but it was another chance for celebrating. Thank you to all my church friends who have been part of this amazing journey. "
