The local Contact Centre has been using the Methodist Church since it started in 1999 and is affiliated to and accredited by the National Association. Most referrals come from the Courts, although with the cutback in legal aid there is a growth in online self-referrals. The aim is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment where the non-resident parent can continue a relationship with their child/ren when communication has broken down between the parents. Two separate entrances are used so there is no need for them to meet. It takes place on 2nd and 4th Sundays between 3 and 5 pm and it overseen by a team of volunteers who provide cups of tea and a non-judgemental attitude.
